Libby transition FAQs
We are saying goodbye to Libby on Sunday 3 December 2023.
Why are we saying goodbye to Libby?
We're consolidating our digital library. BorrowBox is our most popular digital platform and we've already begun expanding the content available to you. Check out the recently added range of magazines!
When is the last day to use Libby?
Sunday 3 December is the last day you'll be able to access your Darebin Libraries loans and borrowing history on Libby.
What happens if I have items on loan?
You need to read or listen to them before Sunday 3 December. After this date, your loans will automatically be returned.
What happens if I have items reserved on Libby?
You won’t be able to access Libby reserves after Sunday 3 December.
If you are still needing the title, please check BorrowBox or ask one of our friendly staff.
Requests for new digital titles can be made at lib reception
Will I have access to my loan history?
Your loan history won't be available on Libby. If you'd like to keep your history, you can export it using the Libby app Timeline feature before 3 December. To do this, select the Clock icon from the menu bar, tap on Actions and then Export Timeline.
Where can I borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks?
You'll find these on BorrowBox. Download the free app or view in your browser.
Where can I find digital magazines?
You have two great options – BorrowBox and PressReader! Both can be accessed using their free apps or using a browser. More info here.
Will back issues of magazines be available?
Back issues will be available and the BorrowBox app can even deliver the latest issue automatically! Use the Subscribe option when you borrow your favourite magazines to receive new issues as they become available.
