Celebrate Wurundjeri Week with Aboriginal educator Thane Garvey-Gannaway as he shares his knowledge of Country

Presented by the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation.

Thane Garvey-Gannaway is a proud Wurundjeri man who grew up in Healesville. For over 15 years, Thane has worked with the Wurundjeri Corporation across a range of areas, including the Cultural Heritage Unit as a field representative, the Narrap Land Management Team, Policy and Partnerships, and currently within the Education and Events teams.

During his time with the Narrap team, Thane was a caretaker for several significant cultural sites, including Coranderrk Cemetery, the Sunbury Earth Rings, and Mt William. Over the past three years, as part of the Wurundjeri Education Team, Thane has delivered hundreds of Welcomes to Country and Smoking Ceremonies and has led numerous cultural walking tours and educational sessions across Wurundjeri Country.
