Our libraries are so much more than a place to browse and borrow. We offer a welcoming space for study, learning, leisure and lounging.
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land we now call Darebin and pay respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging. We pay respect to all other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Welcome to Darebin Libraries
Our libraries are so much more than a place to browse and borrow. We offer a welcoming space for study, learning, leisure and lounging.
With a varied collection of resources, ever-expanding digital services and four library branches located at Fairfield, Northcote, Preston, and Reservoir, we're one of the most valued services within the City of Darebin.
We have a large digital and physical collection of books, movies, music, audiobooks, newspapers and magazines available for borrowing. These resources are available in English as well as in our community languages – Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic, Italian, Spanish, Macedonian, Hindi, Punjabi and Greek. Visit our resources in community languages to find out more.
We're committed to making our resources and services accessible to all. Our Home library service, accessibility computers, talking books and large print books are just some of the ways we deliver on this commitment.
Every month we schedule free, engaging events and programs for all ages, including Rhyme Time, Storytime and Conversation Café. Find out more on our events page.
We also provide unlimited wifi, PCs, printing and gaming consoles.
