Thomas Richard Clinnick

(1887-1972)

Thomas Clinnick was born in Thomastown in 1887. After becoming a teacher in 1902 he filled a number of teaching posts around Victoria including three in Preston.

Living in Preston in excess of forty-five years, Clinnick participated in:

· Reservoir Progress Association;
· North Ward Progress Association;
· PANCH;
· Victorian Football Association;
· Victorian Football League

Clinnick had served as a commissioned instructor in the Australian Imperial Force during the First World War and later became a Justice of the Peace. To round off what was an impressive list of social activities he was cashier at the Olympic Village for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.
