Fern Confectionary Palace
222 High Street Northcote
Fern Confectionary Palace was opened in 1914 at 222 High Street Northcote. It was run by Mrs West and was conveniently located next to the Northcote Theatre. The Confectionary palace offered billiards, snooker, English and Colonial confectionary, tea rooms, ice cream and soda summer drinks. In a 1917 advertisement, it promised it was, ‘The sweetest and coolest place during the Summer Months’. It closed in 1926.
