Ellen Jones

When Ellen Jones started at the Commercial Hotel in 1891 with her husband Michael, little did she realise that she would remain there for the next forty years. Up until 1906 the licence was in her husband’s name but after 1906 the licence for the Commercial Hotel transferred to Ellen and remained with her until she left in the early 1930s.
