Joseph Verso
Joseph Verso was the father of Charles Verso, who was a prominent Councillor and Mayor of Northcote. He was a carpenter by trade and an armature musician. For 23 years, he had been with Sarrin Lyster's opera orchestra and took pride in his memories of playing Lola Montez, Barry Sullivan and during Bianchi's opera season. His son Charles built 1A Walker Street for him when he retired in 1897, after 12 years as a storekeeper in Richmond.
