Brian is a passionate support of local history and has made significant contributions to our local knowledge, especially in the fields of World War One, Sport and general knowledge about Darebin and its beginnings.  A keen supporter of the Preston Football Club, he has amassed considerable knowledge of the club and its history. 

Darebin and the Great War

"Of Affairs Local' is the first volume of a history of Darebin during the Great War.  The study covers the issues that impacted on the local community including:

  • a series of letters from the Whalley brothers, owners of the Northcote Leader and travelling in Europe during the outbreak of the war,
  • a study of women who took part in the War;
  • a table of casualty statistics.
