Northcote Cricket Club
The Northcote Cricket Club was founded in the mid 1870s. The club was briefly known as the Northcote Star Cricket Club in the 19th century. For most it's existence club games have been played at Northcote Park, but initially the club was based at Plant’s Paddock and then, until 1904, at the privately owned ground behind the Croxton Park Hotel. The club has played at the elite level of Melbourne club cricket since 1907, winning premierships in 1911/12, 1965/66, 1973/74, 1986/87 and 1996/97. Famous players of Northcote Cricket Club include Albert Hartkopf, Bill Lawry, Rodney Hogg and Mick Lewis.
