Hugh Heron

Hugh Heron, blacksmith, was 24 when he enlisted in May 1915 as an able-bodied driver for 1st Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train. He lived with his mother in their Charles Street, Northcote home. He embarked from Melbourne on board A39 Port Macquarie in June 1915 returning as a Sergeant in the 6th Field Artillery Brigade in February 1918.
