1A Walker Street, Northcote

The property that used to be at 1A Walker Street, Northcote was a brick two-storey house which was built by Northcote Councillor Charles Verso in 1887 for his aging father, Joseph, who had retired after 12 years as a shopkeeper in Richmond. The matching number 3 Walker Street was leased to William Pearl, who was also a councillor. By late in the century both houses became the property of George Lush who leased them out.
