Dora E. Yann

(1894 - 1976)

Dora E. Devers was the daughter of Christian Devers, who owned a bacon curing and small goods factory in Oakover Street, Preston. In 1918 she married Preston Blacksmith and Wheelwright, Fred Yann Jnr. Mrs Yann played a very active part in Preston’s community,  participating in the Red Cross during both World Wars. Her charity work saw her rewarded with Life Governor Certificates from the Eye and Ear, the Women’s, the Austin and P.A.N.C.H. hospitals.
