Dr. Henry A. Jenkins
Dr. Jenkins (born 1925) commenced his career as a general practitioner at Northcote before moving to Preston in 1955. Taking a strong interest in local organizations, Jenkins served on the Board of Management of PANCH, had membership of various electoral colleges, including Alfred Hospital and Queen Victoria Hospital. Other medical interests included service on the Faulty of Medicine and Science at Monash University. In 1961 Jenkins was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly. As a member of the Promote Thomastown Association Jenkins played a key role in encouraging the development of Thomastown as a light industrial area.
