Orlando Walker

(1860-1932)

Orlando Walker was born in Richmond but spent most of his life in Preston where he was an active member of the community. Walker worked as the Works Manager for Frederick Walker’s Glue and Oil Factory in West Preston, but nevertheless found time to help establish the Preston Fire Brigade, initiate the rebuilding of the Preston Courthouse and Police Station. Walker served as a Justice of the Peace, Chairman of the Court of Petty Sessions and Special Magistrate for Children’s Courts.
