Ron Bowtell

(1914 - 2001)

Ron Bowtell, a wicket-keeper and opening batsman, played 205 consecutive games in Northcote’s first XI between 1935 and 1951. In all, his 208 matches place him 3rd on Northcote’s list of most games played. 

He served Northcote Cricket Club for well over 50 years, holding the posts of captain, coach, committeeman, treasurer, vice-president and president. He also represented the club on the VCA pennant committee for 39 years. He then served as president of that committee for 17 years and was made a vice-president of the VCA in 1980.
