John E. Moore
(1900 – 1967)
Preston Mayor (1944 - 1945 & 1950 - 1951)
John Moore served on the Preston Council from 1938 to 1955, serving two terms as Mayor, in 1944-5, and again in 1950-51. Like many Councillors of the 1950s and 60s, Moore took an active role in the management of PANCH, serving as President of the Board of Management in 1949-50 and 1964-65. As recognition of his contributions to the Preston community the J.E. Moore Reserve in Reservoir is named after him.
