Joseph S. Grey
Joseph S. Grey was born in Clemenston and later educated in Kingston, Victoria. In 1917 he established a paperbag manufacturing plant in Brunswick. The family business was a floated public company by 1965 and moved to Newlands Road, Reservoir.
A longtime resident of Preston, Grey became a councillor on the Preston Council in 1935, continuing in the role until 1948. He served as Mayor of Preston from 1941-1942.
Grey was the first Life Governor of PANCH, as well as playing a prominent role in the Methodist Church in Preston.
He later retired to Kallista in the Dandenong Ranges.
