414 High Street, Preston (1879 – 1887)
Samuel White set up his boot making business in a small weatherboard building on the east side of High Street, just north of Wood Street. The building had previously been operated as a butchers shop. Samuel was one of several White’s operating businesses in High Street Preston during the 1870s and 1880s. Thomas White ran a saddlery business in South Preston and William White was a butcher, also in South Preston. It is not known if they were related.
